Things To Do
USCS2011
Utrecht provides you with many opportunities to visit muse etc. There are a few things you might want to do in the weekend (except of course working on your project):
Fort Rhijnauwen
On Sunday afternoon it is possible to visit the old fortress Rhijnauwen, which is within walking distance from the university campus. Admission is 4 euro's, starting time 13.30. Further information see
here
Rent a Canoe
Withing walking distance from de campus you can
rent a canoe, and make a trip from there through the canals of Utrecht. You see the city from a very quiet and completely different perspective. You may rent a canoe with three people for e.g.a full day, take some bread with you, and also make trip in the opposite direction, ending at the pancake house and fort Rhijnauwen. take into account that the river "De Kromme Rijn" has a slight current, so going to the city is a bit easier than rowing back.
Museum "Van Speelklok tot Pierement"
The museum
"Van Speelklok tot Pierement" contains a nice collection of mechanical music instruments and organs. Tours start on the hour and take an hour. There are not many comparable muse in the world.
Cheap Deal
Although I have never used it you may be interested in the
Holland pass which provides you with combined ticket and public transport. If you have any experience with it, please let me know.
