   * 1969-1975, Mr. Sc. theoretical physics in at <A HREF="http://www.cs.rug.nl">Groningen University </A>
   * 1976-1979, Ph.D studies ate <A HREF="http://www.utwente.nl/">University of Twente</A> (at that time called the "Technische Hogeschool Twente) to work on a Ph.D. thesis in computer Science (defended in Jan 1981) supervised by Prof. Dr Arie Duijvestijn. 
   * 1980-1982,  Assistant professor at the <A HREF="http://www.cs.rug..nl/">(sub)-Faculty of Mathematics</A> at <A HREF="http://www.rug.nl/">Groningen University</A>
   * 1983 - ???, Full professor at the <A HREF="http://www.cs.uu.nl/">Department of Computer Science</A> at <A HREF="http://www.uu.nl/">Utrecht University</A>.
