The assignments for this course consist of three parts
- a series of paper reviews to get an overview of software engineering theory
- lab exercises to get to know basic software engineering tools
- a software project to experience all aspects of software engineering practice
Paper Reviews
Each week you should read and review the assigned paper of the week. Reviews will be graded.
Deadline: Each week on Monday before 12:00 using the submit system.
Tools
In these exercises you learn to use several standard configuration management tools applying
them to a small case study. While making these exercises you accumulate a complete deployable
software package under version control. You hand in the resulting package.
Deadline: September 19, 2003
Project
During the rest of the course you work together in a team to realize a software product fulfilling the requirements of a customer. The customer pays in grade points.
Starting in week 38 there will be a weekly
project meeting? on Mondays to discuss with the project team the development plans for the coming week and a
project review? on Fridays to present to the entire class the results of the week.
Deadline for the final release and product presentation: November 14, 2003
