Introduction

Swe02
Software Engineering traditionally focusses on techniques for the practice of the actual making of software without bothering too much about underlying or background theoretical frameworks. This makes Software Engineering more an engineering discipline than an exact science. For example, as an engineering discipline Software Engineering has accumulated many practices for organizing the process and logistics of software construction but also the tools to support these. This course on Software Engineering focusses on the latter, that is, tools to support the construction of software. Further details can be found in the CourseDescription, introductory reading material in FurtherReading.
