Course Assignments

The assignments for this course consist of three parts

• lab exercises to get to know basic software engineering tools
• a software reorganization project to make your hands dirty
• a tool comparison paper to strengthen your conceptual understanding of the material

Tools

In these exercises you learn to use several standard software engineering tools applying them to a small case study. While making these exercises you accumulate a complete deployable software package under version control. You hand in the resulting package.

Project

In this project you can show that you really understand how to use the various tools by reorganizing an existing software package (graphviz).

Deadline: December 16, 2002

On Thursday, December 19, each team has to explain its project submission.

Paper

In this individual literature study you investigate (find and compare) tools supporting some aspect of software engineering. Note that you should write this paper in parallel with the other work you have to do.
