Title: The Edutainment Sensor Platform
Abstract
At Philips Research, we are working on bringing advanced technology and
traditional toy designs together. This will allow us to create a whole
range of new, revolutionary, exciting toys and games that have classical,
friendly interfaces (e.g. fluffy animals), but advanced functionality.
Some prototype implementations of such games will be shown in the
presentation.
Now is the time to think further about the technical specification of the
platform that we want to build. For example, a challenge is to design the
right language to allow non-technical people to (re-)program the games.
This means that programming needs to be simple, but on the other hand we
want to allow the users to create advanced games. And this needs to be
done such that the end-products remain cheap, too!
