Pugs Bootstrapping Perl 6 With Haskell
Stc
Date: 2009-01-15 Time: 11:45 Room: BBL room 471 ----+++ Speaker: Mathijs Swint ----+++ Title: Pugs, Bootstrapping Perl 6 with Haskell ----+++ Abstract Perl 6 is the latest incarnation of the Perl language developed by Larry Wall. It features some radical changes from the current Perl specification and will not be compatible with Perl 5. Pugs is intended to be a bootstrapping Perl 6 compiler. Its initial release was developed quickly using Haskell. This talk will show why Haskell was chosen for the development of Pugs and how it enabled the rapid development of the compiler. -- Main.PietVanOostrum - 13 Jan 2009
