Title: Upgrading a LaTeX package
Abstract
During the recent holidays I have been upgrading the LaTeX package
changebar. This package allows the author to specify change bars in a
LaTeX document: bars in the margin that indicate changes in the
document. The original package appeared to have several bugs. While
correcting these several other bugs were detected. These are caused by
the way TeX internally produces typeset pages.
This talk will introduce you to the structure of TeX and then I will
talk about the solutions for generating the proper change bars. This
will illustrate some advanced TeX programming.
