Title: Ajax: Rich internet applications
Abstract
Rich internet applications are
the hype of 2005. Google's gmail,
googlemaps and similar applications have shown the public how much is
possible in the context of a browser, the gap between browsers and
desktop applications is closing rapidly. The term AJAX has been coined
for the combination of Asynchronous Requests (A), JavaScript (J) and
(A) XML (X).
However, Javascript is a barely typed language, and very few tools are
available for serious development. In this talk a number of approaches
to serious development in JavaScript will be examined, most notably
approaches for testing.
