I think you could use some ideas of the alzheimer paper also in setting up your invited speaker's ontology, that is it might be useful to separate the public knowledge and the private knowledge and be able to support why a given speaker is relevant for a certain conference, probably because he runs projects in that domain, he has publications, etc...
