Online Package Base
*Description* The Online Package Base is a collection of Open Source software packages developed at several different institutes. These packages are combined to form self-contained software _bundles_ using a technique called SourceTreeComposition. To obtain software from the Online Package Base, you first select one or more software _packages_. Then you press the ``bundle'' butten. This will generate a self-contained _software bundle_ with the packages you selected and those that are required by them. In order to build the generated bundle, the =README= file that is contained in the generated bundle should be consulted for instructions about the easy three-step installation procedure. The advantage of software bundles is that they can be managed as a unit (i.e, the ingredients of a bundle can be distributed, build, and installed as a unit rather than individually). This improves software _reusability_, because it limits the complexity of software _deployment_ activities, even when many software artefacts are used. *More Info* More information about the Online Package Base is available as part of the documentation of SourceTreeComposition The [[http://www.cwi.nl/~mdejonge/package-base/.][Online Package Base]] is located at http://www.cwi.nl/~mdejonge/package-base/.
