Application Infrastructure Requirements

The application infrastructure is the core of GW. It provides the middle layer between storage management and the applications. The application infrastructure should provide a flexible, programmable plugin archicture that allows users to easily create new applications. The storage layer is used to provide versioning of content. Application-specific rendering of content is stored in wiki files as well. Rendering actions are chosen based on the type of file. The application infrastructure provides a general dispatch mechanism for this purpose.
The application infrastructure also deals with user management and access control.
