Check List For New Students

CSMaster

Check your registration status (as a student).

Have you completed your registration procedure or are you still marked as "pre-active"?

Where: student administration office.

Write your study plan, ASAP!

You need to know what courses you want to do in the first term! To know this you need to decide which study lines you want to do. Study the curriculum here; draw your plan and get it approved by our Graduate student advisor (Dr Ad Feelders). An approved plan is by the way also a formal requirement for the CS master programme.

Study the curriculum well; you should know how many ECTS you need; what are your mandatory courses; whether you need deficiency courses, and so on.

To help you, templates for the plan can be found here: StudyPlan

Register for you first courses, and get the needed books ASAP!

Now that you have a plan, go and register for your courses. Information about courses can be found here: General courses schedule

Figure out how to navigate in the "Education" page.

The above global schedule page is also known as the "education page". The list provides a lot of information. It enumerates all courses provided by our Department (so, not only those provided by the CS master programme); clicking on a course will give you full information on its schedule, and a further link to information about the course itself, e.g. description, and even slides and exercises, etc.

Courses at Utrecht University are scheduled in "slots". Figure out how this work. You should be able to get this information from the education page.
