Account Policies
The user has read the following terms and agrees to be bound by them.
General:
- The policies are also available on the web pages:
- Users must follow the rules, laid down by Utrecht University,
regarding proper use of hardware and software ;
see Reglement gebruik ICT-middelen UU.
- The Department of Information and Computing Sciences can, at any time,
change these terms. Changes will be published on the web page
mentioned above and a message will be posted on the local
newsgroups ruuinf.comp.announce and ruuinf.student.
- Users are asked to allow the Department to use the passport photo,
which the user supplied to Utrecht University, for organisational
purposes (department use only).
Rules for the computer classrooms:
- Food and drink are not permitted in the classrooms. The user must not
disrupt other users by loud conversation or disruptive behavior.
- Academic work for courses and projects of the Department takes precedence
over all other uses at any time. Other academic work is allowed.
Between 9 AM and 5 PM it is forbidden to play games.
- The user shall not display any offensive pictures on the computer
displays. This includes pictures with a sexual content.
- The user shall make responsible use of the computer hardware.
- The user may not modify any network services or wiring without
explicit consent of the Computer Systems Group.
Account policies:
- The user is responsible for the account. The user may not let anyone
else use the computer account.
- The user shall read the
local usenet newsgroups at least twice a week.
The newsgroups ruuinf.comp.announce and ruuinf.student
will be used for announcements.
- The user shall read the
Usenet News Etiquette before using usenet news.
Failure to comply with any of the above policies may result in termination of
the computer account.
