There are quite a few "digital learning environments", but as always no existing programme does exactly what you want. WebCT (a Canadian product) was already being used at the Faculty of Arts of Utrecht University. We tried to adjust this programme to fit our needs. And we sort of succeeded. Some who worked on this part of the project suggested that if they had developed a programme themselves it probably would have been done quicker and better. But in short: it worked out rather well.
