The concept of using digitised old books for education was new (at least in Utrecht). So we talked with several people within the Department of History and tried, successfully, to interest them. The project started in 1997. The preliminary talks with the professors of the history department, were at the end of that year. We eventually agreed that the digitised text would be used in a doctoral seminar, that would start in January 1999 and would end in June 1999. We had a lot of meetings and adjusted our work when necessary.
