| Contents: | The aim of this seminar is to study the concept of software patterns. Patterns are considered to be proven solutions for frequently occuring problems within the field of software engineering. Students will explore the use and importance of patterns in the current software industry in multiple ways. First, they will evaluate and present existing patterns to get a better feeling of what patterns really are, after which they have to 'go hunt' for patterns used within case companies. The emphasis in this seminar will be on discussion, performing your own research, presenting your research results, academic paper writing and active participation in all of these subjects. | |||||||||||||||

| Exam form: | The result for the seminar on Software Patterns is based on the grades provided for each of the deliverables. The deliverables are case company presentation (5%), the proto-pattern presentation (5%), the draft paper (20%), the final presentation (10%), the peer review (of appointed student papers and presentations) (10%), and the final paper (50%). For the final paper the grade must be at least a 6. | |||||||||||||||
