Contents:	The course Elementary maths for GMT provides knowledge of basic mathematics useful in the game and media technology master program. The course is accessible for GMT students only. It covers most of the necessary high school and undergraduate maths that is essential for GMT. Students coming from a Dutch HBO or students coming from a bachelor program that makes relatively little use of mathematics are especially advised to take this course. Students with a science bachelor degree from Utrecht University are not allowed to take this course for credits. Topics covered include algorithmic analysis, continuous mathematics (calculus) and numeric methods, linear algebra, and probability and statistics .
Literature:	Slides, exercises and solutions are provided on the accompanying website. There is no book for this course.
Course form:	Lectures with integrated assignments.
Exam form:	Four individual written tests, taken after each of the four topics. The final grade is a weighted average of the four grades. See the accompanying website for details. The final grade is rounded to the nearest half point. Since no half points below 6 can be given: if the grade after rounding is smaller than 6, the grade is truncated to its integer part.
Minimum effort to qualify for 2nd chance exam:	Om aan de aanvullende toets te mogen meedoen moet de oorspronkelijke uitslag minstens 4 zijn.
