Contents:The aim of this course is to acquire knowledge and understanding of different models and decision analysis techniques for (rational) decision making with and without uncertainty. Roughly, the following subjects will be discussed:
  • decision criteria
  • decision trees
  • utility theory
  • multi attribute decision making
  • analyses of uncertainties

The first part of the course focusses on how to perform a decision analysis for a person or company facing a difficult decision. The remainder of the course is of a more theoretical nature. The former is discussed at length in Clemen's book; for the latter we mostly rely on material from the transparancies.
