|Contents:||A research internship can be performed either internally in one of the departments involved in the AI master program (Reasoning, Agents, and Cognitive Processing Tracks), or externally by other departments of our university, other universities or companies. An internship project should be performed under the guidance of, and in agreement with, an internal supervisor who is a member of the scientific staff of the AI master program. The internal supervisor cannot be a PhD student.
The topic of a research internship project should be relevant for artificial intelligence and agreed by the internal supervisor (see below for some examples). The project may aim at, for example, developing software, investigating a theoretical problem, or doing experimental research.
The internal supervisor from the AI master program is responsible for the final evaluation of the project's output and determines the final mark. For external projects, the final mark can be determined in agreement with the external supervisor. The student can have his/her own concrete project idea or he/she may be interested in doing a project on a specific topic. In both cases, he/she should find an internal supervisor from the AI master program who approves the project proposal (content and size in ECTS) and agrees to supervise the project. When an internship is performed internally in one of the departments involved in the AI master program, there should be a second adviser/expert involved to approve the project. In some cases, and in agreement with the internal supervisor, two students can also perform a project together.
At the end of the project, the internal supervisor should complete an evaluation form and send it, together with the final written project report, to me. If you need help for finding a supervisor, you can contact the coordinator of the relevant track of the AI master program.
