|Contents:||In process mining research and its applications, log data that is
produced during the interactions of systems and human actors are
systematically put in relation to process models. Process mining
comprises the automatic learning of process models out of event logs,
conformity checking between existing process models and event logs, and
the analysis of event log characteristics.
The research area of process mining is characterized by fast developments and rapid upcoming of new approaches that contribute to the scientific knowledge base on principles and techniques for process mining. To cope with recent cutting-edge developments in process mining research, the INFOMPROM course is held as a seminar with a high amount of reflection upon recent publications in process mining research, but also on fundamentals and general principles of process mining.
The seminar consists of two phases which realize a hybrid teaching approach. In the first phase, a common understanding of fundamentals and established approaches in process mining is established during interactive lecture sessions. In the second phase, participants will actively dispute recent developments in process mining by giving seminar talks about contemporary scientific research in the following areas:
