For your presenter role, please follow these instructions:

  • Prepare a presentation that at least includes the following:
    • A few slides in which you give an overview of your topic (name, authors, origins, purpose, main phases, etc.)
    • One or two slides on the related literature to position your topic
    • An explanation of the PDD (if you have a very large PDD, show a high-level overview and zoom in on some interesting parts)
    • An example to illustrate (part of) the method
  • Attach your presentation to your Twiki. Do this at least 30 minutes before the workshop in which you will be presenting starts.

Lecture April 12

Time: 15.00-17.00

Paper consult

-Email your student assistant and make appointment if you need any assistance with final paper.

Assignment week 15: Final paper & knowledge infrastructure entry

Complete the paper and take the comments of the peer reviewers and your workshop leader into account. You should include the explanations, process-deliverable diagram, tables and examples in your paper as explained during the course. Please note, that every diagram should be accompanied by a proper explanation. Do not simply put a diagram in your entry without any text for the outside reader.

In addition, you have to finish your Wiki page. In order to keep consistent, we ask you to use (in your Wiki page) exactly the following structure and headings:

Introduction
Introduction to the method, with a high-level description of the method
Example
Description of the example
Process description
Consisting of the PDD, the activity table and the concept table
Releated literature
Here you describe the related literature
References
List all references you used, alphabetically, in APA style.

It is allowed to make your own sub sections.

The template(s) that you created should be added to your Wiki page. Please make a link to the template from the corresponding deliverable in your concept table. In addition, you can also link to the template from your method description or example. Also, please check the work of your classmates. Sometimes it can be usefull to create some cross-references between the different papers. Finally, if you really want to go for the 10, please proved links to your references, pointing to the url where you can download the concerning article.

We would like to have the layout of the different papers consistent. Therefore, we ask you to use the following format instructions:

  • First-level headings: ---++
  • Second-level headings: ---+++
  • For tables, please use the Twiki formatting instructions that are described here. Do not insert tables as pictures in your Wiki. You can also use HTML to create tables.
  • Use captions for your figures and tables. Make sure your figures are of a high quality.
  • Don't forget to use italics in your references (where it is neccessary)
  • Remove all information concerning you name, student numer, assignment etc. Copy/paste your signature (e.g.-- Main.IngeVanDeWeerd - 03 Apr 2009) at the bottom of your Wiki.

Please do not export your HTML from MS Word and include it in the Wiki.

Before April 12, 17.00h. you have to:

  1. Submit your assignment to Ephorus. It should be a Word or PDF document with the following name: final_<loginname>.doc, so, for example: final_iweerd.doc.
  2. Finish your Method Engineering Wiki. Make sure to add the Visio source files (*.vsd) to your Twiki.
  3. Put a hardcopy in the mailbox of Sjaak Brinkkemper along with the corrected earlier assignments. Besides the method name and your name & student number, you should include the following text on the front page of the document:

Notice of Originality
I declare that this paper is my own work and that information derived from published or unpublished work of others has been acknowledged in the text and has been explicitly referred to in the list of references. All citations are in the text between quotation marks (“ ”). I am fully aware that violation of these rules can have severe consequences for my study at Utrecht University.
