Course overview

The Seminar Computer Animation will focus on a selection of relevant animation-oriented papers. We will look at common animation techniques related to motion capturing, kinematics, interpolation and so on. As a part of the animation seminar, a visit to the motion capture lab at Utrecht University will be organised as well.

Activities

During the seminar, each participant will give a paper presentation. Also, each participant will write a number of paper summaries (see below for the review papers). Next to the seminar sessions, a visit to the motion capture lab will be organized. The seminar participants will do a small project in teams in the lab which involves recording a simple motion and putting it on a virtual character. Demonstration movies of these projects will be shown at the last session.

Finally, the participants will perform a literature study on a topic within the animation research area. You can find some additional guidelines for preparing this study here.
