Image Processing

Practicals are 2-hour sessions in a computer room. You will be asked to perform a number of tasks (typically load images and apply image processing routines) and to comment the results. No programming is involved. These assignments are made in pairs using the ImageXplorer software and accompanying test images.

ImageXplorer is currently a protected software and may not be distributed to any third party. Only use connected to the course Image Processing is allowed.
Download ImageXplorer, and use password "ixINFOIBV".
Students are encouraged to get used to the software before the first practical. It can be started by running ix.exe directly from the directory ix/bin. The software does not come with a manual. However, the interface has the standard Windows 'look and feel', and should be straightforward to use for anyone familiar with Windows. Please note that the program can crash. In this case, make sure you replace commas with dots (or vice versa) on all tabs of your current window.

The answers to the assignments will have to be written on a provided physical document and hand in at the end of each session. You will have the possibility to have feedback on your assignments by contacting the assistants.

The first practical deals with the content of chapters 1 to 4, the second practical with chapters 5 and 6. The accompanying images will be available on this page by the beginning of the practical.
