+++ NEWS +++
- [Apr 2, 2008] The results from the retakes are now online.
- [Mar 13, 2008] Some final remarks on the retakes:
Date, time, and place of the retakes can be found on the official website for this course. There will be two tests Tm1 and Tm2 which can replace T1 and T2, respectively. If you qualified for the retakes, it is up to you if you take Tm1, Tm2, or both of them. However, be aware that you can only replace T1 with Tm1 and T2 with Tm2. Tm1 will mainly cover the content of lectures 1-4, Tm2 will focus on the material of lectures 5-13. Each exam Tm1 and Tm2 should be doable in less than 1.5 hours. You have max. 3 hours to work on the questions, no matter if you decide to do both or just one of the exams. As always, you may not use books, notes, or any electronic equipment (including your cellphone, even if you just want to use it as a clock). Bring your student ID and a pen (not a pencil). Paper is provided by us.
- [Feb 18, 2008]
The final results are now online. I double-checked the critical cases and we also decided to modify the "P must be at least 5.0"-rule in you favor, i.e. relaxed it in so far as it was only required to have "at least 4.50" (which is 5.0 after rounding). As a consequence, a few more students got lucky and passed :)
The table also indicates if you are qualified for the retakes. Everyone who did not qualify but asked for an exception has been informed of the decision by email. If you did not qualify for the retakes but think you have reasons why admission should be granted anyhow, please contact us soon.
It looks like some students did not indicate the names of *all* group members on the submission of the 2nd practicals, which is why some ended up having 0 points. We will contact the most obvious cases and ask for clarification. If you find any further irregularities in your data (we do make mistakes, too), please let us know and we will be happy to check them.

- [Feb 15, 2008] The results from the 2nd programming assignment are online now. Final grades will be posted next week (I want to re-check the exams of some critical cases first, i.e. students who just missed the qualifications for passing), so all the results posted so far are preliminary. Final grades are calculated as F = (2T+P)/2 with T = (T1+T2)/2 and P = (P1+P2)/2 and then rounded to the next number (if below 6) or 1/2 number (if larger than 6). In order to pass this course, F, T, and P have to be at least 6, 5, and 5 (and you had to take both exams and practicals). I also posted some hints to the solutions of the 2nd exam (PDF). Students who have not met the critera for a retake but contacted us about an exception will get an email from us next week.
- [Feb 5, 2008] The results from the 2nd exam are online now. Results from the 2nd programming assignment will be posted later (most likely sometime next week). Hints and comments to the solutions will also be posted later.
- [Jan 24, 2008] Solutions (sketch) and comments (PDF) for the midterm exam are now online. Sorry for the delay.
- [Jan 17, 2008] The results from the 1st programming assignment are online now. Deadline for the 2nd assignment is Jan 24, 18h. There will be exercise and programming labs sessions next week, but no more lectures. The final exam will be on Jan 31. Check the exams and grading page for further infos.
