The required literature consists of the lecture slides and the following parts of the book: Chapter 1 Chapter 4: Sections 1-5 Chapter 5: Sections 1,2,3 until 3.4 (Bayes Error Rate),6,7 until 7.3 (cost-sensitive learning). Chapter 6: Sections 1-6, 7 until 7.2 (Measures beyond pairs of binary variables). Chapter 7: Section 4. Chapter 8: Completely. Appendix D. Until x means: not including x.
