"A modal logic in which we can reason about intention dynamics and
intentional action execution will be presented. In such a logic
the dynamic molecular notion of action is substituted by its
atomic constituent attempt and the former is defined from the
latter. I will provide a formal analysis of the relation between
intention and action and highlight the pivotal role of attempt in
action execution. Besides, I will deal with the problem of
intention generation by formalizing some crucial aspects of
instrumental reasoning, and with the problem of intention
persistence by providing a precise characterization of the
conditions under which an intention of an agent persists over
time".
