The 2APL platform has been tested on Windows 2000 and Windows XP, as well as Mac OS X, Linux and Unix (Solaris). In order to run the 2APL platform, you need to have at least Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 or Java Developers Kit (JDK) 6 installed on your computer. The 2APL platform takes less than 4.5 MB on your harddisk. The user guide explains how to install the 2APL Platform on your computer.
You can download an old version of the 2APL Platform here (updated 3 March 2008). This version contains debugging functionality, but is based on an old version of the 2APL Platform which fully runs on Jade. This version is no longer supported.
A new, fully updated, version of 2APL (without debugging functionality) can be downloaded here (updated 20 February 2009). It is a stand-alone version in which Jade can optionally be used for agent communication.
Documentation Downloads
The user guide explains how to install the 2APL Platform on your computer, introduces the syntax of the 2APL programming language, and explains how to use the various tools that the platform provides. The user guide also describes how to use the blockworld environment that comes with the 2APL Platform. Please note that this version of the manual is not consistent yet with the newest version of 2APL.
